Embark on an exhilarating 8-Day Lemosho route expedition, one of the most remote and scenic routes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This route takes you through beautiful forests, moorlands, and the Shira Plateau, providing stunning views of the Southern Ice fields and the three peaks of Kilimanjaro (Shira, Mawenzi, and the Kibo peak where the summit is).
Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up from the airport and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Meet your Kilimanjaro Guide, who will ensure you have all the required gear for the hike.
Drive to Londorossi Gate, complete registration, and start the trek through dense rainforest to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite, situated at 2750m.
Hike through forest trails to Shira One Camp at 3500m, passing through the Shira Plateau with panoramic views.
Continue the journey to Shira Two Camp, enjoying views of Shira Peak and the Shira Plateau. A great place for acclimatization.
Hike through rocky paths to Lava Tower, descend to Barranco Camp, and experience a change in atmosphere. A highlight for many trekkers.
Scramble up the Great Barranco Wall, traverse scree and ridges to Karanga Camp. Acclimatization walk in the evening.
Hike to Barafu Base Camp, located in the alpine desert. Early dinner and rest before the midnight hike to Uhuru Peak.
Midnight hike to Uhuru Peak through Stella Point. Descend to Barafu Camp and further down to Mweka Camp at 3100m.
Descend through the forest to Mweka Gate, receive certificates, and drive back to Arusha. Departure from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Embark on this challenging yet rewarding Lemosho route, immersing yourself in diverse landscapes and conquering the summit of Africa’s highest peak.
