Join Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris and you’ll understand why this excursion is worthwhile.

Arrival

You will be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour begins can be booked at an additional cost.

Day 1 : Arrival for your overnight stay in Arusha

When you arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by a Meru Slopes transport driver and taken to Arusha Planet Lodge. The remainder of the day will be spent at leisure, and you may even relax at the hotel. In the evening, you will attend a briefing to prepare for the forthcoming safari. Your accommodations are full-board.

Day 2 : Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, go on a full-day game drive through Tarangire National Park, with picnic lunches. Ngorongoro Marera View Lodge will serve dinner and accommodate your overnight stay. It is the national park where herds of up to 300 elephants scrape the dry river bank for new streams, while nomadic wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It boasts the highest concentration of animals outside of the Serengeti ecosystem—a feeding ground for predators—and is the only area in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and unique long-necked gerenuk may be seen on a regular basis. It is the only national park that accommodates migrants during the dry season while also providing a safe haven for various animal species.

Day 3 : Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will go to the verdant highlands, where the Iraqw people farm wheat, coffee, and corn. You will proceed through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a crater of incredible grandeur formed three million years ago by the eruption of a volcano. You will be able to witness the stunning expanse of the Ngorongoro Caldera before continuing on to the Serengeti National Park. Serenget means 'endless plain' in Maa, the Maasai language. You will arrive at Serengeti late in the evening. The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's largest park, containing a variety of landforms and habitats, including grassland plains, wetlands, lakes, savannahs, and mountains. The largest wildebeest and zebra migration occurs here, and depending on the season, you may be able to see thousands of animals as they look for food and water. After an extended wildlife drive, you will proceed to Heritage Tented Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4 : Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early coffee, you'll go on a game drive in the Serengeti. Before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater, you might be able to observe the "Big Five": lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The animals travel freely across the unfenced reserves, providing an uninterrupted game-viewing experience. When you arrive at the crater's edge, you'll get a first peek of what awaits you the next day: glittering streams, broad grassland, and a limitless number of animals. You'll spend the night at Rhino Lodge, right on the crater's edge, with the orange glow of sunset enveloping you as you drift off to sleep.

Day 5 : Ngorongoro Crater

Tour the Ngorongoro Crater and then return to Arusha. Early risers are rewarded with stunning views of the morning sun from the crater's edge. Following a full breakfast, you will drive down the thrilling slope into the crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa's Seven Wonders and home to one of the world's most spectacular ecosystems. It originated millions of years ago as a result of a major volcanic eruption. It is 610m deep and covers around 260 square kilometers. Because of its robust animal population of roughly 25 000, the crater provides the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Tanzania. In just a few minutes, you can view wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the area's more than 500 bird species. With a little luck, you might spot an endangered black rhino through the grass. After lunch, you will scale the crater's steep walls before heading to Arusha for the night.

Day 6 : Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport ( KIA)

Today is leaving day. You will be dropped off in Arusha, Kilimanjaro, or Arusha Airport. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport, or you may choose to extend your trip with a beach vacation in Zanzibar.
