The Marangu route, known as the Coca-Cola, approaches from the south-east. It’s the oldest and most modestly established route. Many people prefer it since it is thought to be the easiest approach due to its gradual incline and direct route. It is the only route that provides sleeping huts with dormitory-style accommodations. The least number of days required for this route is five, however the likelihood of successfully reaching the summit in that time frame is low. Extra acclimatization days on the mountain are highly suggested.
For an additional fee, we can organize a transfer from the airport.
Elevation (Ft): 6,046 Ft To 8,858 Ft
Distance: 8Km
Hiking Time: 4-5hrs
Habitat: Rain Forest
We leave Moshi Town for Marangu Gate to complete the necessary paperwork before beginning our adventure. The hiking trek begins by ascending through a lovely tropical rain forest. We may observe blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys at the top end of the forest line. The trail then widens to expose stunning slopes before arriving at Mandara hut. Then we'll descend to the Marangu gate.
The Marangu path is a popular trip to the summit of Kilimanjaro. However, it has the least beautiful variety of all routes (ascent and descent are on the same path) and is therefore the most busy. Marangu is available as a five to six-day private climb to the summit. Mandara and Kibo Huts each have 60 bunk beds, while Horombo Hut has 120. Guests are given mattresses and pillows, but sleeping bags are still required.
