Day Trip Kilimanjaro Shira Plateau from Moshi

Stop At: Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro National Park Tanzania

After breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation and bring you to Kilimanjaro National Park's Londorossi Gate, which is located on the mountain's western flank and ascends through the forests to an elevation of 2,100 meters. You will then begin your day's trip through tropical highland forests, which are home to a diverse range of animals and birds. With the assistance of your guide, you may see colobus monkeys, crested turacos, and other wildlife. You will go to the enormous Shira Plateau at 3,400 metres. After lunch, you'll head to Shira 1 Camp, Lion Gorge, and the foothills of the Shira Pinnacles.

Kibo Peak, Kilimanjaro's famous snow-covered table top, should be visible from here, as should the surrounding glaciers. If you're not ready for a lengthier journey, you can drive all the way up to the Shira Plateau and then slowly explore the surrounding areas on foot. After taking pictures and enjoying the closer view of the mountain, you will descend to Londorossi Gate and then drive to your accommodation in Moshi.
